This summer, the Indian River Festival and Sirens Choral Association Inc. are pleased to work in partnership to present the 2019 edition of the Indian River Festival Chorus. The choir will perform at the renowned Indian River Festival on Sunday, July 7^th in collaboration with the Saskatoon Children’s Chorus.

Sirens Choral Association Inc., mandated to provide accessible programs to singers from across the Island, as well as create a network of choral singers, is excited for this new partnership. In working with the Indian River Festival, singers will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a world class venue, as well as perform alongside one of Canada’s foremost children’s choral program.

The ensemble will be directed by Kelsea McLean, Artistic Director of the Sirens family of choirs, and accompanied by pianist Andrea Ellis. McLean is thrilled to be part of this collaboration, “I am very excited to be a part of the new partnership between Indian River Festival and Sirens Choral Association Inc! As the Artistic Director of Sirens and the conductor of Indian River Festival Chorus, I believe these two organizations working together will serve in further strengthening the choral tradition and musical relationships on Prince Edward Island. I would encourage those who are interested in singing in community to give the Indian River Festival Chorus a try this summer. Sharing the stage with renowned Saskatoon Children’s Chorus is not an opportunity to be missed.”

The Indian River Festival Chorus is an unauditioned ensemble for soprano, alto, tenor or bass voices. Singers should have previous experience singing in choral ensembles, and a basic understanding of reading music. Focus will be placed on vocal development, musicianship, and having fun! Rehearsals will take place in both Charlottetown and Indian River from April to July. Keep reading for complete details!

Commitment

• As you can see, we will be operating on a tight schedule! It is imperative that you can attend the majority of rehearsals (maximum missed is 2); if you have any questions, concerns or challenges, please discuss with us directly.
