Under the terms outlined by Prince Edward Island’s Chief Public Health Office, Sirens Choral Association (SCA) Inc. has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of its 2019-2020 season. This includes all activities for Sirens, Harmonia Girls’ Choir, and the Indian River Festival Chorus, as well as the postponement of the release of Sirens’ debut album “Boundless”.
This was a difficult and heartbreaking decision for Sirens Organizing Committee and Board of Directors. In times like these, our organization feels an obligation to share with our audiences, and engage our singers with music-making – it just feels unnatural not to be singing together. However, it is our top priority to protect the health of our singers, audience members and stakeholders; after all, “the best way we can come together right now is by staying apart.”
SCA is hopeful that we will resume regular activity in September, and begin preparing for an exciting concert season in 2020-2021. We look forward to health, and gathering as a community someday soon!
