Sirens Choral Association (SCA) is excited to announce the twelfth season of Sirens and the tenth season of Harmonia Youth Choir. With a diverse range of concerts, this season promises to be a memorable journey through the rich tapestry of vocal harmony.

SCA’s Artistic Director, Kelsea McLean, is pleased to announce the upcoming season. She says, “This year, we are especially excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Harmonia Youth Choir—a milestone that fills us with pride. As artistic director, my goal is to celebrate the skills and talents of our incredible singers, reigniting excitement for our concerts here on PEI. Our 2024-2025 season embraces a return to our roots and a celebration of simplicity. You can look forward to performances featuring beloved pieces from our album Boundless, along with a fresh rendition of Katerina Gimon’s Elements, which we last performed a few seasons ago. By revisiting these pieces, we highlight the timeless Sirens and Harmonia sound that keeps our audiences coming back for more.”

In an effort to ensure our choral community is accessible to all, Sirens Choral Association is pleased to introduce a “pay what you can” ticket structure for the 2024-2025 season. While tickets for Sirens concerts are typically priced at $25 and Harmonia tickets at $15, audience members can choose the pricing option that works best for them.

Harmonia kicks off the season with Stars Tonight on December 14, 2024, at 7:00 pm at Park Royal United Church, Charlottetown. This heartwarming program celebrates light and hope, featuring Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre, White Winter Hymnal by Pentatonix, and Tracy Wong’s Fly.

Harmonia is thrilled to welcome new and returning singers for the 2024-25 school year!

Now in its 10th season, Harmonia is Sirens Choral Association’s principal educational program striving for musical excellence. Having fun, making new friends, and discovering the joys of singing in a group setting, Harmonia is a community where everyone can feel safe to find their voices through music.

Under the leadership of Kelsea McLean, artistic director, and Andrea Ellis, assistant director and pianist, Harmonia’s programming includes two choirs: Harmonia Junior for ages 10-14 or unchanged treble voices, and Harmonia Senior for ages 14-20 for treble and changed voices.

In past seasons, Harmonia has participated in local music festivals, earning the Community Youth Choir Award in 2017 and 2018 at the Queen’s County Music Festival, and Connie and Bud Ings Award for Youth Choir at the PEI Kiwanis Music Festival in 2018. Harmonia has collaborated with Sirens and the PEI Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at Province House, Music Monday, and PEI Junior Honour Choir events. Most recently, Harmonia was featured in the official choral recording of “Music is our Medicine” in honour of Music Monday, a national event produced by The Coalition for Music Education.
